SISTERS

My sister M is the most important person in my life. We have a very unique relationship. Our sister bonding revolves in a love-hate relationship. Even though we fight a lot I care a lot for her. For the past year and a half it’s been hard, since she went to college. She is studying in Georgetown University and loves it, even though she misses home most of the time. M has a very “weird” personality, she likes to make everyone around her happy but she doesn’t make herself happy. I know it’s weird, but I still love her. She just came here to Venezuela for thanksgiving break, but I didn’t get to see her as much as I would’ve wanted to. My mom and my sister are really close, like me and my dad. They usually bond against me which isn’t cool. M and me do many things together, we tell each other everything, we watch Gossip Girl, we paint our nails, and mostly criticize. My sister and me have a huge defect which makes us even more special. We love to criticize people, things, and gossip. I can’t wait to see her in December. I miss you M.

My Favorite Place in the World

My favorite place in the whole world is a small island called Mallorca; Mallorca is in Spain. I’ve spent my summers in Mallorca most of my life. We have a family house that the grandfather of my grandmother left her. This place is magical; the house is situated in a bay with other houses. The other homes have children that have gone to Mallorca for their whole life like me, so we all know each other. My most valuable memories and experiences are stored in that small island. What do we do on our daily routine in Mallorca? Well we wake up around 9:30 and have breakfast. One of my favorite things about this house is the food, my grandmother is very strict with food, and they cook really well. After having breakfast, I generally go out and tan for a while and read in the sun. At around 12 we have a small snack which is called “aperitivo” a aperitivo is a small snack between breakfast and lunch. Around this time many friends of my parents and come over to the house and go for a swim in the sea. Lunch is late; we have lunch at about 3:30. After lunch w (kids) are supposed to have a nap, JA JA JA we all escape from the house to the Hotel of the bay that is open to anyone that lives in the bay. Here at the beach we meet up with all the kids from the other houses and go on jet skis, or to water skiing, or even go out on boat to other bays. All the kids from the bay are supposed to be at their house at around 7-8. In summer time in Mallorca there is sun light until around 9. So dinner is also late, dinner is served at around 10. Sometimes us kids go down to town to have dinner, and hang around by the beach. Mallorca is my favorite place and I enjoy it so much.

Experience of a Life Time at LAS

This summer I went to LAS, Leysin American School. I didn’t go by my-self; I went with my best friend V and with other friends. We all decided to go because V was moving to Costa Rica and we wanted to go somewhere with here before she would leave.We had an amazing time, and met people from all over the world. I took a course of French, Guitar, Improvisation, and Advanced photography. I think my favorite course was photography, because I won the “Best Photographer on Campus Award.” Going to LAS was a wonderful experience not only meeting people from different places such as Germany, Brazil, US, Russia, Kuwait, Colombia, Mexico, and many more, but also going to new places. We got a chance to go to Interlaken where one of the 7 wonders of the world is. They are waterfalls, that were amazing, and I got my piercing done there. We also went to Aosta, which is a very small town in the borders on Italy and Switzerland. In Aosta we saw the match when Brazil was disqualified from the World Cup which was the highlight of the day, and we had the best Gelato I have ever had. Another place we went to was Montreau, in Montreau we saw the Music Festival which is very famous, and we went into the lake it was so much fun. Apart from all the excursions we did on weekends I also got the chance to do some fun activities in camp such as: participating in the comedy, and the musical. Participating in both productions was a huge honor. I also got the chance to do rafting which was a bit risky but so much fun. I will never forget this summer; I had the time of my life, and hope to go back.
